Motor offences for individuals
Driving without a licence, insurance or MOT certificate is a motoring offence, as is the failure to produce these documents.
Lack of insurance carries a fixed penalty of between six and eight penalty points and a maximum fine of £5,000, as well as disqualification for up to 12 months in serious cases. In the case of a young driver, there is a strong possibility of their licence being immediately revoked.
